Transportation

At Arbor Academy, there are several safe and convenient options for getting students to and from school. Whether your child rides the bus, is dropped off by car, or walks, our goal is to ensure a smooth, efficient, and safe experience for every family.

we are proud to offer free bus transportation for students living in Battle Creek and surrounding areas, helping ensure every child has access to a safe, reliable ride to and from school.

Bus Transportation

Arbor Academy operates two school buses serving students across the Battle Creek area.

  • Drop-off and pickup take place at the Upper Academy loop
  • Morning pickup and afternoon drop-off routes are available
  • Bus stops are assigned based on student addresses and route efficiency
  • Families will receive bus stop location and times prior to the start of service
  • Students are expected to follow all bus safety expectations aligned with our SOAR values: Safety, Ownership, Achievement, and Respect
  • Transportation availability may vary based on route capacity and location. We do our best to create a stop as close to your home as possible.
Car Riders

Our car rider system is designed to be fast, safe, and organized.

  • Arrival and dismissal take place in the Lower Academy loop
  • All families are assigned a car tag number. We ask that you display the tag in your front windshield or a location visible to staff from the outside of your vehicle.
  • Staff are present to direct traffic and assist students
  • Please follow all posted signage and staff directions
  • For safety, students must enter and exit vehicles from the designated side only

Most students are safely dismissed within just a few minutes each day.

Walkers

Students who walk to and from school should:

  • Use designated sidewalks and crosswalks
  • Follow all traffic safety rules
  • Arrive and depart promptly during designated times
  • Have a completed Walker Permission Form on file with the school (required for all student walkers)
  • Students in lower academy (K-2) are not permitted to walk home alone and should walk with an older relative or family member.

Staff supervision is provided during arrival and dismissal to support student safety.

Safety & Supervision

Student safety is our top priority.

  • All buses are supervised and monitored
  • Staff are present during arrival and dismissal to ensure smooth transitions
  • Behavior expectations are consistent with school-wide PBIS practices
Important Notes for Families
  • Bus transportation is a privilege and may be adjusted if safety expectations are not met
  • Families must notify the school of any transportation changes in advance
  • Updated contact information is required to ensure clear communication
