Brittany Coder is the Principal of Arbor Academy and a proud alumna of Michigan State University and Wayne State University. She began her career as a middle and high school science teacher before transitioning into educational leadership at the elementary level. Brittany has worked with students across grades K–12 in Lansing, Albion, Flint, and Battle Creek, bringing a well-rounded and deeply informed perspective to her leadership. As a community-focused leader, she values strong relationships with students, families, and community partners and is committed to creating a welcoming environment where all students feel supported and inspired to grow. Guided by the belief that “if you want to go fast, go alone, but if you want to go far, go together,” she fosters a culture of collaboration and shared responsibility.
“We’ve sent all of our children to Arbor Academy, and one of the biggest reasons is the small class sizes. They’ve never been in a huge class, and their teachers have always been easy to get ahold of.”
“We actually live outside of Battle Creek and Arbor still buses my child. That honestly made it possible for us to send them here. I don’t have to worry about getting them to school because Arbor takes care of transportation, and that’s been a big help.”
“The childcare on campus has been a lifesaver for us. It’s so convenient and I feel better knowing my child is in the same place all day.”
“Winston is our school dog and he comes to visit our class. He makes me happy when I'm not feeling great and I like when we get to pet him.”
“I like that our classes are small because you actually get help and you’re not just sitting there confused.”
“I like working here because you can actually reach kids. You’re not just trying to get through the day.”
